About Lerkendal
This area is famous for the football stadium, home arena for club Rosenborg BK, with seats for 21.620 people, making it the second largest in Norway. Lerkendal is also dominated by Norway University of Science and Technology with the main campus located in Gløshaugen. Therefore, this area is densely populated by students and young professionals. The area Moholt has its own ‘student village’ with around 1.300 students and expats. Lerkendal is home to a large park known as Risvollan Disk Golf Park, a frisbee golf court, a fun activity to try. Lerkendal is located just east of the river ‘Nidelven’, a great spot for a stroll close to nature.
Lerkendal Geography
This area is located south of the central area ‘Midtbyen’, home to around 46,600 people. Lerkendal consists of the areas Bratsberg, Dragvoll, Elgeseter, Flatåsen, Gløshaugen, Moholt, Nardo, Risvollan, Sjetnemarka, Valentinlyst, Fossegrenda and Åsvang. Lerkendal was established in 2005 during the municipal borough reform that reduced the number of distinct boroughs in the city.
